Inside the Salesforce Ecosystem: Episode 3 with Antony Daley, Senior Solutions Consultant at Hyphen8
Welcome to the third episode of Inside the Salesforce Ecosystem, where we dive deep with the experts and Trailblazers shaping the future of Salesforce.
This time, we’re joined by Antony Daley, Senior Solutions Consultant at Hyphen8. Antony shares his journey into Salesforce, insights into his role, and advice for aspiring professionals. Let’s dive in!
Q: Can you introduce yourself and your role at Hyphen8?
Antony: I’m Antony Daley, a Senior Solutions Consultant at Hyphen8.
We’re an implementation partner and we work with charities of all sizes, from very small projects to large scale implementations, we do everything. We’re consultants, we’re coaches, problem solvers, everything that comes with customer facing roles.
My role is quite varied—I manage multiple projects, assist our managed services team, and help with presales activities. I also manage our relationships with partners. At Hyphen8, we specialize in working with nonprofits, which aligns with my passion for purpose-driven work.
Q: How did your journey into Salesforce begin?
Antony: My Salesforce journey began when I transitioned from working in call centers into the tech world. I’ve done every job you can think of in a call center, but it just wasn’t for me. So, I decided to make a career switch and went to university as a mature student.
After graduating, I started looking for any entry-level developer role. A recruiting consultancy asked if I’d ever heard of Salesforce, and I had no idea what it was. I ended up interviewing as a developer, and that’s how I got into Salesforce. Honestly, it all started because I hated my old career, wanted a fresh start, and always enjoyed working with computers.
Q: With your experience working on tools and integrations, which have been the most rewarding to work with, and why?
Antony: For me and from a Hyphen8 perspective, there are two main areas where Salesforce falls short. One is document generation, which led us to PDF Butler. Over the last six months, we’ve transitioned from some of your competitors, and internally, everyone who’s used it has loved it. It’s good, cost-effective, and has become our go-to document generation tool—which really matters when you’re working with charities, where every penny counts.
The second area is web forms and form tools. While Salesforce’s Experience Cloud is great for opening up access, many smaller customers don’t need or want that level of access. So, we often rely on external web form tools to meet their needs.
Q: Can you share a memorable project you’ve worked on?
Antony: A large part of what I love doing at Hyphen8 is working with small charities—over 100 in the last decade—helping make their lives easier. I’ve supported food banks, children in need, and more, so it’s hard to pick just one project.
One that stands out was for a large organization where their pre-sales and contract negotiation process used to take 5–6 days. We built a bespoke sales system on top of Salesforce that reduced it to just 34 minutes. It included a product picker that pre-configured contracts, generated all the documents, and created timelines and pipelines automatically. It was one of the hardest projects I’ve worked on, but also the most rewarding because of the huge impact it made.
Q: What advice would you give to someone aspiring to work in Salesforce?
Antony: Don’t be intimidated by the technical side. Many skills are transferable—whether it’s problem-solving, communication, or understanding business processes.
Start with Trailhead to build your foundational knowledge, and don’t underestimate the value of soft skills like empathy and active listening. Networking within the ecosystem is also crucial; it’s one of the most supportive communities I’ve ever been part of.
Q: What do you do outside of work to recharge?
Antony: I’m a big believer in work-life balance. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring the outdoors. Disconnecting from screens and getting fresh air helps me reset and stay productive.
Q: What excites you most about the future of Salesforce?
Antony: The potential for Salesforce to drive meaningful change, especially for nonprofits, is incredibly exciting. As the platform evolves, I’m looking forward to seeing how we can continue using it to empower organizations and create a positive impact.
Thank you, Antony, for sharing your journey and insights with us!
