PDF Butler + Peppol Integration: Seamless e-Invoicing Directly from Salesforce

We’re excited to announce that PDF Butler now integrates with Peppol! Providing a seamless interface between Salesforce and the Peppol Network, making it easy to manage e-invoicing from start to finish right inside your CRM.

Why E-Invoicing Matters More Than Ever

Across Europe and beyond, e-invoicing is no longer a nice-to-have, it’s quickly becoming mandatory. Companies worldwide are rolling out B2B e-invoicing mandates starting January 1, 2026, with similar regulations in place or coming soon in Germany, France, Belgium, Italy and other European countries. For organizations that rely on Salesforce to manage orders and invoices, this means one thing: it’s time to ensure your invoicing process is both digital and compliant.

Manually generating and emailing PDFs will soon no longer be allowed. Businesses need a solution that allows them to create, send, receive, and track invoices electronically — all while meeting local and international standards.

What is Peppol?

Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement Online) is an international e-invoicing and e-procurement network that enables companies to send structured electronic documents, such as invoices, securely across borders.

Originally designed for B2G (business-to-government) transactions within the EU, Peppol is now widely used for B2B invoicing as well. Its adoption has spread beyond Europe to countries like Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the UAE, and Japan, making it a global standard for interoperability.

With Peppol, you can:

  • Send and receive e-invoices in a standardized format (UBL, Factur-X, ZugFERD, …)
  • Ensure compliance with national and EU-wide e-invoicing mandates
  • Streamline cross-border invoicing without building custom integrations for each partner.

PDF Butler + Peppol Integration

PDF Butler now provides a seamless interface between Salesforce and the Peppol Network, making it easy to manage e-invoicing from start to finish — right inside your CRM.

Here’s how it works:

For Admins:

  • The creation of the e-Invoice is handled as a DocConfig in PDF Butler
  • The Admin can choose if they want a PDF and an e-Invoice or only an e-Invoice
  • Receiving of e-Invoices can be disabled by the Admin if the company does not want to receive invoices via SFDC
  • Use all existing Salesforce & PDF Butler automation (Flow, Batch, Apex) to trigger e-Invoice creation and delivery
  • Control permissions and reporting to ensure security and compliance

For End Users:

  • Trigger e-Invoice creation directly from Salesforce
  • Review invoice status in real time
  • Generate credit notes, reject invoices if needed
  • Build reports on outgoing and incoming e-invoices
  • Optionally access a dedicated UI to manage all e-invoices outside Salesforce

Access Points:
We are working with Access Point providers specialized with Belgium and international rollouts, supporting multiple formats (UBL, Factur-X/ZugFERD) to ensure compliance across regions.

In the coming years, the Peppol standard will be adopted over the EU and also by many other countries worldwide.

Cost:

  • One-time onboarding fee
  • Cost dependent on incoming and outgoing e-Invoices
