Some Mergefields are only for identifying structures in the document, for instance a Table or a Row. When the document is generated, you do not want to see these anymore. So these will not be replaced via a SINGLE ConfigType.
Of course, you do not want to see these in the resulting document.
PDF Butler allows full control over your mergefields. The lesson shows how to control the removal of MergeFields.
For few config types, you will see below option “Remove Mergefield Action”
- None
- Containing Paragraph
- Merge field only
Below example explains how each option will work.
Example:
- Create a Doc Config of type Main word document and upload this template.
- Open PDF Butler and create below config types and select “Remove Mergefield Action” according to the merge field names in the template.
- Add the doc config in opportunity page and generate document.
This is the template
This is the generated document
For the Paragrapgh Config type, where you selected “Remove Mergefield Action”
- Â None- This will not remove merge field and also the paragraph after the merge field
- Containing Paragraph – This will remove the merge field along with the paragraph containing the merge field
- Merge field only – This will remove merge field alone.
